Mexico City
The oldest capital city on the American continent, Mexico City is located in a valley 2,240 metres above sea level. The city is blessed with an excellent climate that maintains an average temperature of 22˚C and monthly rainfall below 20mm.
In a city where ancient traditions coexist with modern life, it is possible to shop in some of the most elegant malls on the planet and then visit the artisan markets of Coyoacan or San Angel, taking the time to stop to eat Mexican-style at one of the 4 or 5-star traditional cantinas.
Known as the City of Palaces, Mexico City has been designated by UNESCO as World Heritage in two locations. The first is the Historic Centre, with architectural jewels such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace with the legendary murals of Diego Rivera, and the Palace of Fine Arts, amongst others. The second is the Gardens of Xochimilco.
